Would it be a good idea to have an experimental branch on Savannah too?
Sometimes it seems worth submitting unfinished work so that other devs
can have a look.
On the other hand, I will probably make my own local repository
accessible once I've got a suitable machine (it will be easier than
posting patches), so maybe it's over-complicated to have a second branch
on Savannah.
