Well, I suspect changing it to use Gnash's rendering infrastructure
shouldn't be too involved?...
LLVM however sounds problematic indeed -- it's at the core of the VM (I
assume), and thus pretty much impossible to get rid of.

Well, it's a pretty involved task, that requires a substantial initial
investment before producing anything useful... A combination of skill,
time, and motivation is needed, which unfortunately isn't exactly common
-- there are just too many interesting project competing for the few
people who fulfill all three conditions...
