For lack of anything better to add: Does someone want to put up a wiki page with progress or just some place to coordinate efforts? At this point it's probably the most ideal place, mainly because I receive in digest mode (for sanity) and I'm sometimes hours behind the discussion as a result. That would probably be best than trying to coordinate off-list via email. Some of us hang out in IRC as well, but I think the wiki would be a good central part. If no one gets to it in a few hours I'll figure something out and post the URL around.
I've started this process my self, but only got through about 20 packages in main before my head began to hurt. I think the best idea would be to split it up into groups (ie. you take the A's and I take the B's). Just from the 20 or so I've done already I've found that things are generally not as clear cut as "this is gpl'ed", for example the 'ark' package contains files that are under Artistic/BSD/GPL/FDL licences. - Daniel
