Sorry for the late reply. I have checked the messages-file, but the only thing that pops up when I connect
the WLAN adapter is:

Mar 28 01:04:41 gnu kernel: [  105.533439] usb 1-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5
Mar 28 01:04:41 gnu kernel: [  105.660290] usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

Which doesn't tell me much.

Best regards,

1) Own a MacBook with Broadcom -> Purchased D-Link DWA-131 USB WLAN which
uses ath5k (because FOSS)
2) Not included in default kernel with gNewSense, installed
linux-backports-modules-hardy to get ath5k
3) Installed the newest linux-libre-2.6.30 kernel after the above didnt
work.
4) The above didnt work
5) Out of ideas, help?

Check file /var/log/messages (or System log in the menu) for any networking related errors. If you can't make sense of it, let us take a look at it (attach it to email or put it online somewhere).
