Yes, I am aware of that. The problem is that it is mostly boring work
and having now very limited time for gnokii I prefer doing other
things. Some of them may be fix by the way of other things.

If someone wants to work on it it is very welcome, but the solution is
not to cast unsigned char * to char * (most cases) everywhere it is
used but to review uses and decide what the correct usage is (whether
to chnge the type or do the casting). What Dan suggests should be fine
solution.
