I see you fixed it.
Meanwhile, I found a reversion that makes the SiRF-III problem
go away, but at a cost - it may bring back problems with TCP/IP
and UDP sources. Really fixing this is at the top of my list now.
In descending priority order, my other items are:
* Check if gpsd is eating near 100% of CPU (Greg Troxel's report)
and if so find out why and fix it. My suspicion naturally falls
on the PPS monitor loop.
* Actually do a complete runthrough of the Time Service HOWTO instructions.
* GR601-W causes annoying flicker in gpsmon. I think this is related
to the code rapidly flapping between u-blox and NMEA modes, which it
shouldn't be doing.
* I want PPS events to be visible in gpsmon. This is half the reason I
pulled the ntpshm and ppsthread stuff appart, so gpsmon can use the
latter without involving the former. The other reason was code hygiene;
as it was that code was entirely too big and tangled a lump.
