How does GitLab compare with GitHub?  I'd never heard of GitLab before
this, but lots of projects use GitHub (and at least two of us have GPSD
repos on GitHub).  Does GitLab have forks and pull requests like GitHub?
It's a much better workflow for contributions than patches via email.

MacPorts is about to move to GitHub (including migrating from Subversion
to Git), though they mentioned that GitHub's issue tracker doesn't fully
meet their needs, so they'll be keeping the old one.
