Sorry, I wasn't trying to pick on you. I've just been a bit
frustrated in trying to maintain packaging system entries in that it
becomes very awkward as soon as the answer is "you should run
arch/SVN/CVS instead of the latest release".

I've found that with any open source project, the people who are
really into it run from cvs/etc, and I do that for some things. But
for programs where I merely want to use them, that's too hard. I
really want to see the world use guile, and thus I'm pushing
(hopefully not too unpleasantly) to have released versions that can be
used.

So I'd suggest that there be a release if the current development
version is such that the advice "run that instead" could reasonably be
given and more than 3 months have passed, or once a year regardless.

A related issue is the web presence; the project looks dead (as
opposed to fairly stable with some progress, which is what it really
seems like from the list).

Is this the real homepage?

  http://www.gnu.org/software/guile-gnome/

If so, it would be good to announce the new release there.
