Hello guix-devel,

I find the email-based workflow used by GNU projects intriguing. While
it may not be as popular as modern web-based systems, it doesn't
inherently constitute a barrier to entry. On the contrary, my
experience attempting to commit to Guix exposed me to this 'exotic'
workflow, and I found that I prefer working directly within Emacs,
avoiding reliance on web-based UIs. I would not have created an account
on Codeberg just to submit a PR.

Moreover, the current workflow exemplifies a "hacker" ethos, valuing
custom tools and minimizing third-party dependencies. This approach was
quite inspiring to witness & actually pushed me to keep using Guix as a
daily driver as well as to use try using guile more often.

Switching to a new system might render the efforts put into tools like
mumi and the wealth of information on issues.guix.gnu.org and mailing
lists less relevant or accessible to newcomers. Perhaps enhancing the
existing tooling could be a more effective strategy than moving to
third-party solutions.

Cheers,
