Hi folks,
My preferred text editor for a lot of things is geany, but although it
has syntax highlighting for many languages it doesn't have it for awk.
(It uses Scintilla for syntax highlighting and it seems insanely
complicated to add another syntax highlighter for it.)
I've started using pluma (a fork of gedit). It does do syntax
highlighting for awk, though it has some shortcomings that I'm finding
difficult to get used to.
In the past I used an absolutely minimal editor, leafpad, for most
things. It is extremely fast and small, but I've started to rely on the
convenience of syntax highlighting, which leafpad lacks. (Leafpad also
has a few nasty bugs.)
What text editors do you like to use for awk programming?
Cheers,
- Miriam
