Hi,

no, for the blocks no histogram is stored but only the mode color, which is the most frequent color in this block. Find information on mode here: http://www.kaptest.com/pdf_files/Lesson8B_Math_SAT9_MS.pdf This is done at various scales, first the image is divided into four blocks and then each of the block is divided into four smaller blocks again. Each color in any of the blocks is a feature, resulting in (4+16+64+256)x166 features.

Cheers, Henning

Hi,

According to the paper--"Content-based query of image databases, inspirations
from text retrieval: inverted files, frequency-based weights and relevance
feedback; two sets of features are extracted from the quantized HSV colour
space, the first, a colour histogram and the second, colour blocks.

Are the colour blocks the same as histograms, that is, once the images are
divided at four scales, are histograms calculated for each of these four
regions, to record the local information? Also, what is the meaning of mode
colour being calculated for each block?

Thanks,
