icecat 78.10 also does not play the skeptoid mp3 URL directly;
but prompts for a handler option - if icecat could play that
same file last week, the skeptoid admin has likely re-configured
the server recently

i was able to coax icecat into playing that file, like so:

* select "open with:" "other" at the prompt
* press "show all applications"
* select "icecat" from the list
* check the "always do this" box
* press OK

the remote file is downloaded to /tmp, _then_ played via the
file:// protocol - perhaps that is the previous behavior -
unfortunately, the handler is not persistent - ie: the "always
do this" box has no effect
