[Help-gsl] configure error when install gsl-1.9 from source

Hello,

I am trying to install gsl-1.9 from source using gcc463 compilers
using the options

./gsl-1.9/configure   --prefix=/home/namu/SOFTWARES/LIBRARIESIBAMR/GSL   CC
= gcc463

I get the error below when I try to configure GSL.

checking build system type... Invalid configuration `CC': machine `CC' not
recognized
configure: error: /bin/sh ./gsl-1.9/config.sub CC failed


Can someone please help me to build gsl?
