Hello,
I was wondering if there is a standard procedure for submitting and
review code patches. For example, do we go through Savannah bug tracker or
the maintainer first?
GSL helped me a lot back in 2002-2004 when I was doing some simulation
work, and I always wish to be able to contribute something to the code
base. Although I am not a software engineer by training, there might be
some stuff that I can handle. Maybe these are trivial refactoring or
straightforward implementations, but I figure someone has to do it at the
end of the day. For example, I tried the implementation suggested in
http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?47646 and it seemed promising. Of course, I
haven't started writing the tests.
It would thus be appreciated if someone could give me a headsup about
what needs to be done when developing something for gsl. I may have to
start from the fundamentals. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thank you!
Best,
Yu
