If you installed nano from a tar.gz, you'll find a "sample.nanorc" file
in it. You can copy that to ~/.nanorc and modify it for your needs.
If you installed a binary package (rpm or deb), you probably have an
/etc/nanorc file which you can edit so it affects all the users, or copy
it to ~/.nanorc as well.
