Fun, apparently it's broken in Debian unstable now, too. I don't say
it isn't nano's fault. As you well say, nearly all other ncurses apps
work ok on this terminal. We've had this problem for years, sometiems
it's fixed upgrading ncurses, etc. It's quite strange it now breaks in
Debian too, which has been the oasis of this bug :) Another terminal
with problems was Konsole. Dunno if Konsole3 fixed it, I think it did.

If you know someone who knows a good deal of term handling/ncurses
stuff, bribe him to have a look. If it's really a nano bug and you nail
it down, there's a barrel of beer here waiting to be sent to you :)
