[Help-nano] Nano -n

Hello Benno

Thanks for the quick response. It has at least put my mind at rest for now.

What I am trying to do is to encrypt the contents of Nano without them being written to disk at any point before the encryption process begins.
When I read the explanation of -n --noread it said that the use for this option is to pipe to a named pipe. It mentioned piping to gpg which I tried before switching to OpenSSL in order to see if the problem was with gpg. Decrypting the output from OpenSSL using the previously mention process shows enough information to know that the input is coming from Nano.
The -n explanation also says that the output from Nano will be written to the named pipe when the file is saved ^O. I assumed that the Nano interface would be displayed so that I could type into it as normal.
If this is a bug at least I know I'm on the right path and it's not my basic bash skills that are at fault.
I was hoping that when this is working I could write an alias.
Thanks again for your help and breakdown of this problem. I've learned a bit more today for which I am grateful.
