Maybe you're not subscribed?  Then your messages get held
for some time until a moderator looks at it.

Then you are definitely using "modern bindings".  I think
you are not actually using nano-8.1 but nano-8.0, and you
are not actually invoking nano with 'nano -tk', but are
relying on the default Debian 'editor' symlink.

Upgrading to nano-8.1 should fix your problem.
