Erp, actually our first changes were in 1992 AFAICT.

you can see revision history documents for MK.

The very first version to support i386 was MK79.  There are no
substantial differences between MK81 and MK82, so libthreads must be
the same between those two.  Maybe we snarfed MK80, but I think that's
unlikely.

I'm a little unsure still why you think that our base code was not
substantially identical to MK83.  Can you give an example of a
difference between them that we didn't introduce?
