Do you have an antivirus package on the machine? NAV in particular is known
to interfere with JBuilder's JVM. Users experiencing NAV problems often
report the error you're seeing to the JBuilder newsgroups.
If your machine's NAV automatically updates itself, such an update might
trigger a sudden conflict with an existing application.

No matter what we think of Linux versus FreeBSD, etc., the one thing I
