problems with new user

I have a CVS server working on Solaris SPARC with 2 users using it actively.

The other days I tried to add a new user to have access to the server and 
program with us. The problem is that after adding the user with htpasswd I 
get this:

$ cvs login
Logging in to :pserver:address@hidden:2401/dbs/cvsroot
CVS password:
$ cvs co siprebi
Fatal error, aborting.
pedrito: no such user

Login works great, but after that nothing can be checkout. :-(

Any ideas?
