Mark told me that at first, cvs -n -q update is executed (and I have
seen it myself here), and that the current protocol does not allow to
change from "-n" (noexec=1) to "!-n" (noexec=0), and that's the reason
why there are two connections.
Anyway, we are trying to find out (in PM) why there is a third
connection.

Interesting. That's exactly what Mark said, too. ;-)
It might (!) be that I find some time to check that one out - but don't
hold your breath on it.
