Accordingly to the manual, you can remove revisions that are not
interesting any more. This will reduce the size of each file and
consequently of the repository.
If you have tagged all the interesting revisions and are sure that
won't need anything between them, you can remove all the itermediate
revisions between two tags.
With regard to the software, cvs itself can do that through it's admin
command. Check it.
And remember: do backups. :-)
