I have a bunch of projects I currently work on (Tex files,

$CVSROOT tree on a media storage and copy it back to the new
place. Is
it safe to do that this way? I guess yes since I have a postgresql
server running several databases on my machine, and just
saving the data

that cvs doesn't do extra work on repositories.
If you are the only one who will be working on the source, then this will
work OK.
Personally, I'd rather copy the checked-out tree to the media, and move that
back and forth. Since you use the same platform at work and at home,
line-endings won't be an issue.
