Yes, I was, and am, absolutely serious about that.

CVS is _not_ a build system.

CVS is _not_ a complete software configuration system.

It doesn't matter what you're managing (C source, HTML source, nroff or
TeX source, etc.), CVS is only one of the tools you must use to handle
your source files.
