Tick them with '!' (see http://gnus.org/manual/gnus_77.html#SEC77).
The usual way to read newsgroups is to never see the articles that you
have already read (and didn't tick).
That is quite practical, because you only see the things you have
explicitly marked as interesting and the new stuff you haven't read yet.
