Hello

We are new in this list and we can to speak better into spanish, so we'll try do both way.

Just tommorrow we'll participate in a conference about Free Software Migration. We are going to learn al little bit.

We'll get in touch

Hi, we're new in the list and we'll try to speak (in both english and spanish) bilingual to "crop noise" in the sense there's sure people here who speak spanish better than we speak english.

Nos interesan varias cosas:

There're few things we're in:

1) To learn about the best ways to find the better references and protocols to advice and teach entities currently migrating to Free Operating Systems and Free Software.

In this sense I attach a guide in Castillian [Note: an ancient dialect of a region of Spain and actually the so called Spanish language] edited by the Excellence Centre of Free Software of Castilla la Mancha (again, a region of Spain)
[url]

2) Asesorar y prescribir software libre.

2) To advice and prescribe Free Software. To have a bearing on Free Software  at the Red de Economía Solidaria [Note: Solidarity Economic Net - These 'nets' are usually a NGOs or even government programs for social equity], on our clients, on the public administration and in general all the society about the convenience to adopt Free Software for technological sovereignty criteria, security, adaptability, ethic, effort economize, universality...

3) To complete our own migration and productive process fundamentally with GNU/Linux Ubuntu [0] + Libre Office + Gimp + Inkscape + Scribus... Also to use copyleft documentation and publish most of edited works at Visualiza.info as copyleft.

4) We have created the Comisión de Cultura Libre [Free Culture Committee] within REAS and we would love to group with ESLE, ASOLIF and local LUGs and at the same time to relate with social nets and email lists of the Free Software community.

5) We want to provide advice and specialized and certified training (attended or online) on design and desktop publishing applications like GIMP, INKSCAPE, SCRIBUS... We are seeking for "official" certification circuits in the spanish-speaking world.

Well, you see it's easier for me in spanish. I don't know if anybody outthere can read me.

Agur bero bat / Un gran abrazo / Greetings from Iruñea-Nafarroa (Euskalerria)

Estimado Jaxinto: bienvenido!

Dear Jaxinto: welcome!
Before going on let me tell you I translated your email certainly not without effort and sweat :D and I think (I *really* do) you should look for someone capable of doing this little work for you because in this list -and certainly in all not spanish-speaking lists- english is the language of choice for convenience and netiquette.

[0] I would like to clarify something regarding Ubuntu: UBUNTU IS NOT FREE SOFTWARE.
Ubuntu IS open-source but certainly NOT Free Software; Canonical Ltd., the company behind Ubuntu  is even seeking to CLOSE the distro in the way all community contributions will be (intellectual) property of theirs (Canonical) and not of  it's respective owners. This poisonous practice is called OPEN-CORE and seeks to use and then discard the vibrant community of developers to let the company build two main products: one basic and gratis (BUT NOT FREE!!) and the other 'premium' and priced. In this sense there's no virtual distinction between Canonical Ltd. and Micro$oft or Apple.

However there's a very nice totally free (libre) implementation of Ubuntu that you should definitely try to measure its quality and effort put: I'm talking about Trisquel.
You can download 4.0 "Taranis" version from within it's website or any of it's mirrors; you will be surprised  to know it's a distro developed in Spain very close to where you are and with an international scope. Trisquel IS Free Software.

Something to have in mind in the future:

The Free Software Movement is a new Social Contract seeking free flow of knowledge for everyone where we all benefit from the collective knowledge taking and improving it and bringing it back to community for it to be reused, creating this way an upward spiral without limits for research and develop where we all can benefit of it, while the so-called Open-Source movement is merely a software research and programming methodology.

Here you have some links to learn more about all of this:

In contrast this is the mission of the Free Software Foundation:

Trisquel:
