PHP environment variables: out (among the others)

The compiling problem in Mandrake was caused by the PHP environment
variables, which are (some of them) :
devfs=mount
i=/etc/profile.d/xhost.sh
nbservices=33
out=/dev/vc/
pc=0x21449c
ph=9
previous=N
progress=yes
pw=627
px=86
py=482
quiet=yes
res=800x600
runlevel=5
service=19
splash=yes
They are ment for `Server-side scripting', `Command line useage of PHP',
and `Writing client-side GUI applications', as descripted in
http://fi.php.net/manual/en/intro-whatcando.php
Thus, looks like the error is indeed in LilyPond side, which does does not
recognize the directory structure in `out' variable, but still uses it as a
part of the compiling directories.
