I agree it's not so much of a problem, but there has been no progress or even
word of progress from those involved for a couple of weeks.

Yes. Allura needs access to a mail server in order to send out an email to
confirm a user's email address before that user's registration can be completed
(in particular; it's also needed of course for emailing out reports of changes
to the issues). At present the attempts to install a working mail server did
not succeed, and I have seen no progress in resolving this for a couple of
weeks. So I cannot register, and so I cannot try a test migration.
Fortunately the temporary set-up at SourceForge seems to be working
satisfactorily.
