I get your point. I dislike it as well, but gave in to the pressure (not here, but elsewhere) long ago. I try to keep contact data and calendar away from the big G as much as possible, and only use the mail address to forward to another, but still. Go{d,ogle} alone knows what they harvest...
Anyway, I can take care of uploading the patch. Will do so in the evening, most probably.
