So please point out anything about my reaction that has been unclear.

The problem is that people do not even bother to _read_ what they think
they are responding to.

Please do not fantasize about my motivations.  Quote what is unclear to
you.

At the current point of time, I am the release manager.  Apparently
enough people don't trust me to be capable of doing that job that they
would rather someone else do it.

Which would be fine with me.
