Hello List,
Would it be possible to change the stem direction of a note based on
it's position on the staff?
The application is drum notation. I'm trying to find a way to have
freedom between writing the notation and displaying it in one of the
three common "two voice" notation conventions.
Maybe the question is can I change what voice a note belongs to based
on it's position in the staff?
I think a good approach would be to allow any kind of polyphonic note
entry, then prior to interpretation, rearrange the notes into just two
voices based on an earlier configuration about which staff notes belong
to which voice.
Can something like this be included from the .ly file? Or would it
require modifying lilypond internals?
Is this a good idea? Bad idea?
Thanks,
Stef
