Dear Linphone developers,

I have a question about improving signal processing at low microphone levels.
I am working on a Linphone version that is intended to work with low microphone input (for example whispering).
For this to work, I have to amplify low input levels.
When looking inside MediaStreamer2, I have found a filter called msvolume, that has automatic gain control included.
There are also settings in linephonerc_factory under [sound] where certain audio settings can be changed (ng_thres, ng_floorgain, dc_removal, el_speed, el_thres, el_force, el_sustain, el_transmit_thres and mic_gain).
I have found that there is a noise gate, which is not in the volume controllers in the input stack (microphone equalizer, volume controller and echo cancellation).
Does someone know where I can find it?
How can I change the default settings to amplify soft sound without causing audio feedback loops or clipping in regular speech?
I hope someone has an answer.

Best regards

Stefan Oud
