    unix port: added option to use a persistant tap interface
    
    - A persistant tap can be assigned to a user with `tunctl -u <user>`.
      A regular user can then run / debug the simulation. The gw and netmask
      must be setup prior to running.
    - Added check if read succeeded, so we can detect faulty setup.
