Follow-up Comment #3, bug #62231 (group lwip):
I think the key thing is whether the application wants the socket to close
normally - in which case the app should wait for lwip to complete the transfer
(or timeout) - or if the app wants to abort the operation (as in my case) - in
which case lwip should (and I believe does) RST and cleanup immediately.
