Follow-up Comment #1, bug #40851 (project maposmatic):
It is a difficult question!
Corresponding job is http://www.maposmatic.org/maps/093274
You have used default style-sheet (so it should be OSM one).
We could decrease the thickness of highway but it could have an impact for
other users.
Here is the corresponding map on OSM:

This is true that on OSM the roads are smaller.
Right now, I don't know what we have changed on our version of OSM
style-sheet. Is it a bug or a feature?
