Follow-up Comment #29, bug #62271 (project octave):

As Markus commented in bug #62508, the fix from comment #28 is included in the
nightly builds that are available at https://buildbot.octave.space/#/download

With these nightly builds, you can re-enable removing trailing spaces when
saving a file.
