With Matlab:

++
>> false([])

ans =

  0x0 empty logical array

>> false([0,0])

ans =

  0x0 empty logical array
--

and with Octave:

++
>> false([])
error: false (A): use false (size (A)) instead
>> false([0,0])
ans = [](0x0)
