Follow-up Comment #15, bug #63524 (project octave):

IIUC, the feature request is about the support for globstar patterns with the
`dir` function. That is a valid compatibility request imho.

The `dir` function happens to be implemented using the `glob` function in
Octave currently. But that doesn't need to stay that way if we don't want the
behavior of that function to change.
