Follow-up Comment #13, bug #63740 (project octave):

IIUC, we are using patterns like %OCTAVE_VERSION% in other .in files in core
Octave for sed replacements. Would it make sense to use a similar pattern
here?

Also, the value for `PRODUCTVERSION` should match the string set for
"ProductVersion" in the "StringFileInfo" block. (But they use different
formats!) I'm not sure if they would match with the current patch.
