Follow-up Comment #24, bug #42583 (project octave):

I don't understand either.  The function std::exp2 shouldn't have any relation
to qrupdate library.

Have you tried enabling 64-bit libraries, but no other optimizations besides
-O2?  My guess would still be that one of the tuning options such as
'-march=native' or '-flto' might cause this.
