Follow-up Comment #35, bug #64033 (project octave):

When I build Octave from source, it uses gcc=clang.

Is there a way to re-build Octave using gcc-12? 

 I have an alias for gcc-12 in my z-shell initialization, but maybe that is
not getting set in the brew script, and it uses the default gcc=clang
instead.

So, should I be trying to get brew to use gcc-12 instead?  (How?)  Will that
help with the packages?
