Follow-up Comment #4, bug #64379 (project octave):

I can't test the code in comment #3 because I don't have full access to
Matlab.  You might ask on Discourse in the Maintainers area for someone to run
this code.  My guess is it fails in the same way as calling audioplayer
directly with an empty data input.
