I grafted that change to the release branch of MXE Octave here:
https://hg.octave.org/mxe-octave/rev/f2bcc92273b6

So, it should be part of Octave 8.3.0 when it will be released.

Alternatively, you could use a nightly build from tomorrow or later that you
should be able to download from here (in case it builds correctly):
