Follow-up Comment #1:
Correlation in Matlab returns NaN for any scalar input regardless of type
(Pearson, Kendall, Spearman). I adjusted the BIST test for kendall() in
Octave to expect a NaN output rather than 1. I also added BIST tests for
scalar input to spearman() which did not have any. See
