Follow-up Comment #4, bug #64446 (project octave):

Realized after hitting the "Submit" button that my comment was unclear on the
first affected version:
SPQR from SuiteSparse 5 or earlier can be used on 32-bit platforms.
SPQR from SuiteSparse 6 or later can't be used on 32-bit platforms.

(That is at least my current understanding.)
