Follow-up Comment #6, bug #64556 (project octave):

i'll play with it a bit more.  my fillmissing routine was complete but slow. 
(uses my repelems implementation for arrays which is not fast).  but i'll see
if i can at least get something functional. as long as the path is split off
with if(any(!isfinite(x(:)))) it shouldn't hurt general usage.
