Follow-up Comment #8, bug #64801 (project octave): I'm still very ambivalent about whether it is a good idea to rewrite a numerical answer with known floating point characteristics to its mathematical counterpart. From a mathematical purity pov, that's OK, but it would hide any signs of e.g. badly conditioned inputs.
