Follow-up Comment #3:

The build error with Octave 8.2.0 has already been fixed in Octave 8.3.0 and
later.

I cannot reproduce the build error from comment #0 with Octave 8.4.0 on
Windows 11.
Could you please run `pkg install -verbose -forge parallel` and show the
verbose output here?
