Follow-up Comment #4, bug #64975 (project octave):

what exactly is the a[bcd] syntax supposed to do?  it looks like invalid
syntax to me and even playing around with in now i can't seem to get it to do
anything useful.  is it documented somewhere?

seems like a worthwhile sacrifice to me.
